Important limits

Some cases have different fees.

Section 70 sets fixed fees for certain cases. Depending on the case, the fee may be NPR 500, NPR 1,000, or NPR 2,500 instead of the amount shown by this calculator.

Appeals, reviews, property values, and other filing situations may also follow different rules.

Does the calculator cover every civil case in Nepal?

No. It uses the rates in Section 69. Some cases have fixed or different fees under other sections of the law.

Why are different rates used?

Section 69 changes the rate as the claim amount increases. The calculator works out each part and adds the fees together.

What amount should I enter?

Enter the amount being claimed when the court fee is based on that amount. Ask for legal guidance if you are unsure which amount to use.

Is the result the final amount accepted by the court?

No. It is an estimate. The court may assess a different amount depending on the case and filing.
